A day could begin at 4.30am when the alarm goes off and I get up hoping for another good sunrise. I've already done the drawing and at the location. It's still dark as I lay out the paint but I can't even see what colour I'm holding.
I'm finally ready as the sun rises and nature throws down another gauntlet. I know from experience that I have about half an hour to get the basics down. Throw coastal water into the mix and I'm at risk of making a fool of myself in front of the early morning joggers. But somehow a half decent image emerges and I'm satisfied, with my reputation in tact".
