Sam Bech
Ornithology 31st July - 11th August, 2007
Bech’s stunning, abstract portrayals of bird life and landscapes are deeply inspired and atmospheric. With a passion for visually communicating her experiences and surroundings, Bech’s work speaks of behaviour, ingenuity and creativity.
“The work I will be exhibiting is inspired by the ‘birds’ of Australia but primairly New Zealand. I use to the term ‘bird’ loosely here to include the human kiwi. It is a study of: the diversity which makes up this country, kiwi ingenuity, the songs of Tui, the curiosity of Wax Eyes, the relaxed and serene beauty of the Pukeko, and the beauty of hundreds of Galah’s converging in a park.”
