Distinctively New Zealand, its shapes, form and colours; we find our country expressed with a new and bold perspective.
John McNicholas’ refreshing landscapes capture the layers and contours of Aotearoa in a style rich with symbolism and significance. Often depicting an aerial perspective, his unique layering technique give us the opportunity to see what lies beyond the normal horizons and, in a sense, maps the region and how it may appear from a higher plane.
Textural, topographical and vivid; John carves out familiar coastlines with a new sense of mystery and imagination.
