The Emerging Artists Forum was a great success. Satellite would like to thank Renee Liang, Lewis Bostock and Meghan Geliza for speaking and organising the event and thanks to everyone who came and took part!
Emerging Artists Forum
On Sunday 9th May from 2pm - 5pm Satellite Gallery will be hosting an emerging artists mini forum. this will be for emerging artists of the written, visual and performing arts.
Come and be part of the discussion with a number of speakers talking about topics crucial to our careers:
1) Developing a career as an independent artist
2) Marketing, Networking and Promotion - maximizing social media channels and the web
3) Collaboration and Mentorship - how to approach possible mentors and collaborators in your field, and how to build and sustain those relationships!
4) Representation - Pros and Cons of Gallery Representation for visual artists, and Representation for performing artists and writers.
5) How to gain funding for your next art show, play or book
6) Craftsmanship and the Audience- how to keep developing your art and staying sincere when you're starting to gain an audience, and having to face both acceptance and rejection.
Speakers include:
Mark Watts, Manager of Satellite Gallery and a practicing visual artist of 10 years has shown his work internationally. He will lead the discussion for Visual Artists.
Lewis Bostock will lead the discussion in maximizing social media marketing, networking and promotion.
Renee Liang, playwright and poet, will lead the discussion on funding, sponsorship, finding mentorship and collaboration.
